Terms of Use

This is the same text you see in the game. You accept it on the first screen of the game.

Last updated: November 8, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Nasser Al Ghanim (Nasser Made Games), Kuwait ("we", "us"), who makes and publishes Phantom Shapes (the "Game"). By checking "I accept the Terms of Use, have read the Privacy Notice, and confirm that I am 13 years of age or older." and choosing AGREE & CONTINUE in the Game, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not play.

1. Who can play

You must be 13 or older to play. The first screen of the Game asks you to confirm that by checking a box. If you are under 18, or under the age of adulthood where you live, ask a parent or guardian to read these Terms with you.

2. Your license to play

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and play the Game for your own non-commercial fun, on devices you own or control, under these Terms and the terms of the store you got it from (for example Steam). We can end it only as set out in section 12. You get a license, not ownership of the Game.

You may not: sell, rent or redistribute the Game; remove our notices; cheat or modify the Game to get an unfair advantage online; build a competing product from it; or copy, decompile or reverse-engineer the Game, except where the law allows it or where an open-source license for a part of the Game allows it. See THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt in the game folder. For example, you may replace or modify the NVDA Controller Client library under its own license.

Streaming and videos: you may stream and post videos of your gameplay, including monetized videos, as long as you do not claim the Game as your own. Some music has a stream-safe mode in Settings.

3. Playing online

In online play, your display name, your Steam name and avatar (if Steam is running), your character look, cosmetics and in-game actions are shared with the players in your room so the match can work. One player hosts each room, and their PC may be in another country. Online services are provided by Unity (sign in, relay, lobbies, voice) and Valve (Steam friends, invites and lobbies). We may change or end online services, and we will try to give notice first.

4. Voice chat and voice features

Voice chat is on by default. Unless you choose Turn voice on when the Game asks, you start muted in every room. If you chose Turn voice on, your microphone is live when you join. Press M (the default key) to mute. When you unmute, your microphone is streamed live to the players in your room. There is no push-to-talk. Some Phantom powers change how your voice sounds to other players. Nothing is kept.

The Game also has two voice features that use short recordings of what players say during a match. They are optional extras. Both start on because they are part of the fun, and the Game works without them. You can turn either one off, or back on, at any time in Settings > Voice, even in the middle of a round. Turning one off does not limit anything else in the Game.

Voice mimicry (Phantom Echo) is on by default. Accepting these Terms is not what makes it work, and the Game does not need it. While it is on, it records short clips of your voice (up to 10 seconds each) during live rounds. The clips go from your PC to the host's PC and the players in your match. The Phantom can listen to a clip privately, shorten it, and play it to the match as a decoy, or leave it to play from a spot on the map later in that round. Other players hear it only when the Phantom plays it, and your name is never shown when it plays. The Game keeps them in memory only for the current round, and deletes them when the round ends, when you leave, or when you turn Phantom Echo off. A red microphone icon shows whenever Phantom Echo is recording. If you had turned Phantom Echo off before, it stays off. You can turn it off, or back on, in Settings > Voice > Phantom Echo Privacy.

Best Moment replay: at the end of a round the Game replays the best moment, and the replay can include what players said. To do this, each player's Game keeps up to the last 16 seconds of each voice it could hear, in memory only. The saved replay voice stays until the next round starts or you leave, and nothing is saved to disk or uploaded. The replay has no icon. You can leave your voice out at any time with Include my voice in replays in Settings > Voice > Replay Voice Privacy. Every player's game then stops keeping and playing your voice, and deletes what it already has by the next round.

Voice clips are never saved to disk or stored on any server, and never used to train AI. The Game never uses them to recognize who you are, and we do not make a voiceprint or a voice clone. The Game deletes clips when you turn a feature off, but we cannot stop someone using a modified game or recording software. Do not record, save or share other players' voices outside the Game without their permission.

The Privacy Notice explains exactly what each feature records, who hears it and when it is deleted.

5. Behavior

Follow the Community Guidelines. In short: no harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, doxxing, impersonation or cheating, in voice, text chat, names or shape designs.

You can mute any player for yourself, and leave any room. The host of a room can kick or ban players from rooms they host. A ban applies only to that host's rooms. If something is wrong, write to us at the email in section 15. We may tell the authorities where the law requires it, for example for threats or child safety.

6. Things you make

You keep ownership of what you make in the Game, such as cursed-shape designs, your display name, chat messages and what you say in voice chat ("your content"). You give us and the players in your match permission to show, send and play your content inside the Game for that match, including voice mimicry and Best Moment replays while those features are on for you. This permission ends when the match ends. Do not make content that breaks the Community Guidelines or someone else's rights.

7. Mall Tokens and cosmetics

Mall Tokens are earned by playing. They have no money value, cannot be bought, sold or cashed out, and may be changed or reset if we need to fix a bug or an exploit. There are no real-money purchases in the Game today. If that changes, we will update these Terms first.

8. Health

The Game has flashing lights and sudden sounds. Read the photosensitivity warning shown at first launch, and take breaks. You can calm the flicker in Settings > Accessibility > Reduce flicker.

9. Changes to the Game

The Game is a live product. We may add, remove or change features, including voice features, maps and cosmetics, to fix bugs, keep it secure, follow the law or improve it. We will tell you about material changes in the Game before they apply. If a change makes the Game much worse for you, you can stop playing and ask the store for a refund where your law gives you one.

If you live in a country with consumer guarantees (for example the EU, the UK or Australia), you have legal rights that the Game will work as described. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights, and the rest of this section does not apply to you.

Everyone else: the Game is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no promises that it will be free of bugs or always online. Nothing in these Terms removes a right you have under the law of your country that cannot be removed. For consumers in Kuwait, sections 10 and 11 do not limit any obligation we have under Kuwait Consumer Protection Law No. 39 of 2014.

11. Limits on our liability

We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you got the Game. Otherwise our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for the Game. These limits do not apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, to fraud, or to anything the law where you live does not allow us to limit.

12. Ending

You can stop playing at any time by uninstalling the Game. We may end your license only if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms. Sections 6, 10, 11 and 14 still apply after that, as far as the law allows.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to match changes to the Game, the law or the services we rely on (Unity, Valve), or to make them clearer. For important changes we will show the new Terms in the Game and ask you to accept them again before you play. If you do not accept, you can stop playing. Your rights under the law of your country, including any refund right, stay.

14. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kuwait, and the courts of Kuwait handle disputes. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.

Refunds for Steam purchases are made by Valve, not by us. Ask through Steam Support. If you cannot get help there, email us and we will help you raise it.
